In Legal Awareness, the candidate is tested on his knowledge about the basics of the Indian legal system including its history and current status.

HOTEL MANAGEMENT

Service Aptitude section is used to determine specific strength in the field of Soft skills, so questions are generally based on specific day-today situations and ask the candidate about their reaction on the same. There is no right or wrong answer. It is generally checks how a candidate would react to a situation.

Scientific Aptitude section generally tests the candidate’s basic knowledge in the areas of

  • Fundamental physics
  • Fundamental chemistry
  • Fundamental biology

Quantitative Aptitude Section checks numerical skills. The syllabus standard is Class X CBSE Maths.
So students can start with revising class IX and X Maths syllabus to clear fundamentals but should actually stress on speed while attempting questions. Students should develop the ability to do fat mental calculations. Most questions would be based on application of fundamentals, so they are tricky with a twist.

Reasoning tests the logical and analytical skills. This is an alien subject for all students, so although slogging may be required initially to understand the fundamentals, it need not be followed by the high level of practice required for QA. Reasoning questions may be based on syllogism, anagrams (word) sentence/paragraph), analytical reasoning, cubes and dices, Series (No. Alphabet, Pictorial), Puzzles, etc.

English section questions test students in three broad areas:

  • English grammar
  • Reading comprehension and
  • Vocabulary.

General Awareness Section may check Classical General Knowledge, but stress is on Current Awareness. So regular reading of newspapers, current affair magazines (Front line/Outloook/ India Today), Year Books, and TV viewing are recommended.
