  • Students graduating 12th from India need to appear for the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET)
  • Students should have passed with 50% marks or equivalent in the 12th Standard
  • Students graduating from IB schools need to have an IB Diploma or the IB Diploma Course (i.e. IB Certificate) provided that they have secured a minimum of 24 credits and have passed a minimum of three subjects at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL)

The application process for admission to SSLA spans out in two steps.

I. SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test)

All candidates* will have to register for the General Paper of SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test). This aptitude test will be conducted across 21 cities in India

How to register:

  • Go to www.set-test.org to register for the examination
  • After successfully creating your username and password, you will have to fill in your personal information in the web portal
  • Choose SET General paper in order to be eligible for application to SSLA
  • You may now complete your registration by making payment of Rs. 1500 towards SET and Rs. 1000 towards SSLA registration. Payment can be made both online and offline.
  • Admit cards can be downloaded from this portal on 22 April 2017

*Candidates other than International Students and IB students

II. PI-WAT (Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test)

Once the SET results are declared, SSLA will declare its shortlist of candidates eligible for the second step - PI WAT. The shortlist is dependent only on SET and the cutoff varies year to year. The PI-WAT (Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test) will be conducted at SSLA, Pune.

The Personal Interaction will be followed by a Writing Ability Test, which is a short subjective-answer based test.

Based on the combined scores of SET and PI-WAT, the Merit Lists will be published.

Application Process for IB Students

IB (International Baccalaureate) students may attempt the SSLA Entrance Exam (IB) in case SET coincides with their IB exams.

I. SSLA Entrance Exam (IB)

The SSLA Entrance Exam (IB) will be equivalent to SET in terms of test structure and difficulty. This exam will be conducted in the Morning on Sunday, 4 June 2017.

How to register:

  • The link for registrations will be up by February 2017
  • After successfully creating your username and password, you will have to fill in your personal information in the web portal
  • You may now complete your registration by making payment of Rs 1500 towards SSLA Entrance Exam (IB) and Rs 1000 towards SSLA registration. Payment can be made both online and offline.
  • Admit cards can be downloaded from this portal on 22 April 2017

II. PI-WAT (Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test)

After the SSLA Entrance Exam, all the IB students will then have to attend the afternoon PI-WAT session, which remains similar to the PI-WAT session for regular candidates.

The candidates can download the SET Test Admit Card in the 3rd week of April, available on the SET Website (www.set-test.org.)

If the admit card is lost, no duplicate admit card will be issued.

SET (General) is an offline test and will held on 6th May, 2017 from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm

Duration: 150 mins.

  • Calculators
  • Digital Watch
  • Any Bluetooth devices

The students appearing for the test have to carry their admit card along with an ORIGINAL ID Proof. The admit card and the ID will be checked before entering the examination hall.

Important Instructions:

  1. Candidates NOT CARRYING ORIGINAL Identity Card shall NOT BE ALLOWED inside the test center.
  2. COLOURED PHOTOCOPIES/DIGITAL PRINTS etc. are NOT to be considered as ORIGINAL.

Past year papers for SET are not available on the website. If you find it anywhere else except the website then don’t consider it to be authentic.

The score card is available on the SET website for one month after the result is declared.
